Columbus Day

Columbus day is a national holiday celebrated in America and it celebrates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus coming to the americas back in October 12, 1492. The landing is celebrated as Columbus Day. Columbus day is also celebrated in many other countries as well. Columbus day became an official holiday first in Colorado in 1906. It then became a federal holiday in the United States as of 1937. Christopher Columbus was an italian explorer who was born in 1451 and died in May 20, 1506. He actually tried selling to India but somehow got to America and mistakened it for India. Christopher Columbus has left a huge reputation over the years and people will always remember him for what he accomplished.
